End Of An Era For VonZipper and Their Janitor Greg Tomlinson

 Weird week knowing Greg "GT" Tomlinsons baby 'VonZipper has just landed in Oceanside with the owners of Madson Of America (Tony Davis & Alan Ek). I read it first at Shop Eat Surf " VonZipper Eyewear Licensed to Madson of America". When a brand loses it's captain does the brand usually go down as well? I look at a brand like Hurley and what it is today without Bob Hurley behind the wheel. Brands like Hurley lose their cool and the blood, sweat and tears that go with it from guys like Bob and his boys. Will Madson throw sh_t at the wall and see what sticks like Hurley has done creating boogie boards and who knows what else.

Never been to Madson's site so give me a second to see what is going on over there - first thing that pops up under "goggles" is Black Sabbath (my favorite band) snowboard goggles. But wait theirs more, John Deere knock-off, Lady of Guadalupe and Jim Phillips' Screaming Hand snow goggles. I have seen enough and now jump off knowing none of this is originality of today, but more so 20 years ago.
