OUR STORY

My plan was simple: I wanted to build a brand that would include my daughter Eden, as well as my passion for photography and the surfing lifestyle we live everyday. What’s more, incorporating an outreach program was also very important us.

“Together we decided that with every product sold we would donate one new t-shirt to a homeless man, woman or child.”

It’s my sincerest hope that by doing this I’m teaching Eden to put more good into the world than you take out, to always do your best, and to help provide for those less fortunate.

"Jack English is an amazing talent"

- Bob Hurley - Founder of Hurley LLC

"Jack English is one of surfing's most creative and interesting photographic talents. He has a clear, subtle and sympathetic eye for his subject both on and around the waves... and to the characters involved once they're back on the beach"

ENCINITAS

Location

NORTH COUNTY

Sea Of Seven is located in the coastal community of North County San Diego, an area heavily influenced by the surf, skate, moto and beach lifestyles.

Like so many companies that have gone on to great things—Apple, Google, Amazon, Microsoft—starting a business in the garage was an obvious choice. “Our office smells like surfing, with the sweet alchemy of wetsuits, surfboards and surf wax. I enjoy sitting at my desk where I can feel the onshore breeze as I fill orders,” explains Jack.

Eden English | San Diego

Born and raised in Pismo Beach, California, Jack English was introduced to photography by his mentor, longtime Central California surf photographer Aaron Loyd.

For years Jack worked nights at a restaurant in Pismo to save money for the winter months on the North Shore of Oahu—where he knew he had to be in order to get his foot in the door of the surfing world. In his early 20s, Jack captured from the water the largest wave ever photographed at Pipeline. That one shot put Jack on the map. And is what ultimately encouraged photo editor extraordinaire Larry “Flame” Moore and magazine editor Nick Carroll to hire Jack as the only full-time surf photographer in San Diego for Surfing Magazine, and eventually TransWorld Surf Magazine. “This was during the mid 1990s, but I still remember the phone call I got from Nick like it was yesterday. He called me up and said, ‘We want to bring you on board.’ Within hours I had packed up my truck, and by that night I was living in a hotel in Encinitas.”

After many years of surf photography, Jack has traveled to over 23 countries and worked with the world’s best surfers. His passion for the ocean, photography, cameras, film, business, music, and the surfing lifestyle remains undiminished. “I’ve always been passionate about surf culture. Growing up in Pismo, there’s no such thing as a pro surfer, and I think that’s why I’ve become so attached to the lifestyle to this day. Up there in Pismo, everything is behind the times. And now living in So Cal—everywhere I turn I embrace the lifestyle.

In 2010 Jack was asked to join the world’s largest stock agency, Getty Images. He thought about it, but ultimately wanted to be in control of his photo destiny. So in 2011 Jack organized his thousands of images and started his own photo stock agency called Surf Images where he licenses surf-related photos worldwide to the biggest brands and ad agencies anywhere.

In 2017 Jack began yet another line of business—or what he calls an adventure—by launching Sea Of Seven, an online store specializing in surf-inspired home décor, clothing, and his photography.

“Mermaids are just one of my best interests. Without mermaids I wouldn’t enjoy swimming or surfing as much.”

Born in 2008 in Encinitas, California, Eden English was an ocean child from day one, and has been living the dream almost without knowing it. At four years old she caught her first wave at Cardiff using a board borrowed from Joel Tudor. And it only got better from there. Relentlessly active, Eden enjoys surfing, swimming, competing at BMX and motocross, and volunteering on the Green Team (a youth focused environmental program) at her school. Eden is passionate about the ocean and knows the mermaids that swim below.

OUR MISSION

Eden English | Oceanside

While photography is what I do, being a concerned father is who I am. So in the same way I want to teach my daughter to properly ride a bike, I also want to teach her to properly provide for her community. Especially when it comes to helping those in need. Which is why a portion of all of Sea Of Seven proceeds will be used to purchase clothing, food and resources for our local homeless. As I see it, this is simply an act of a neighbor helping a neighbor. But it’s also fundamental. We know there are many of you out there who feel the same way. If you’re able to help us, we’d gratefully accept anything you can offer. And you can be sure your donation will go directly to those who will appreciate it most.
