MX Photo Shoot With Brody McLaughlin

Set my alarm for around 6 in the morning on May 17th based on the Hell On Wheels race got canceled last minute, but Brody was still going to the Lake Elsinore mx track so I agreed I would go and take some pictures of him. We both arrived around 8 in the morning and within minutes he was unloading his 1979 Yamaha 250 2-stroke out of his truck.  With our Sea Of Seven jersey in hand I nervously give it to Brody not sure how he'll accept it, but with no questions asked he begins putting it on. So I grab my canon eos1vhs body and kodak portra 400asa print film and begin shooting and later using my 70-200, 600 and a 50. Fire off around 15 shots of him getting onto his bike then we head out to the track. The one turn we shot the most had some deep sand and was in a good location for the lighting (the sun to his back). Four rolls in about a two hour shoot I say my goodbye and I head home. Getting the photos back i'm happy how they turned out and really glad our words on the jersey our so visible. Brody is also wearing a bell helmet, von zipper mx goggles, levis jeans and dr. martens boots. All photos by Jack English.
