Surfers' are celebrating as residents are in panic as category 4 Hurricane Hilary is coming to Southern California. The thing is by the time this hit's inside our window it will then be a tropical storm with winds from 40-70 mph. Due to the direction of the storm the California coast will not be getting high surf, but will be getting storm surge.

The graphic below in red shows the track Hillary is taking which is horrible for any type of surf action to places from Santa Cruz, Malibu, Avila, The Wedge, Oceanside, La Jolla and DMJ's. I drew the yellow arrow which is the ideal direction a Hurricane would need to take to throw back surf this way (orange arrow)
